GIZ reviews applications against commercial, legal, and thematic criteria—they want to confirm you are a real, properly registered business with realistic plans. They also check whether your project could cause environmental or social harm. Approved applicants receive a grant agreement and move into implementation, supported by GIZ's technical advisors. The exact timeline is not published, so ask the GIZ Senegal office when you get in touch.
What reviewers look for
No. GIZ ENBASS runs on rolling calls for proposals. Contact the GIZ Senegal office to find out when the next call opens and what the submission window is.
No. You must have been operating for at least 12 months. This is a fixed eligibility rule.
Co-financing means you (or your partners) contribute some of your own funds to the project. GIZ will not say exactly what percentage you must provide, but you must show you have real money committed. Start by identifying what you can invest yourself, then ask GIZ what they consider credible.
Both can apply. A business association that is formally registered and meets the other rules is eligible.
Between XOF 2,000,000 and XOF 20,000,000 (roughly ₦2.5m–₦24.5m at current rates). The exact amount depends on your project scope and what GIZ agrees with you.
